The program, held in Abeokuta, Ogun State on the 23rd of May, 2023 focused on empowering 5 children from 10 different schools through various educational sessions and skill acquisition trainings.
The heart of the program lay in the educational sessions designed to inspire and educate the young participants. Two essential topics took center stage: “Monetizing your craft and skill as a teen” and “Children’s Wellbeing” address. These sessions aimed to equip the children with valuable knowledge and practical insights into leveraging their talents and skills for financial independence, as well as addressing important aspects of their overall well-being.
Adding a skill acquisition approach to the program, four engaging classes were conducted to provide the children with practical skills they could apply in their daily lives. The classes included recycling, tie & dye, beading, and Afrocentric accessories crafts. Through these sessions, the young participants had the opportunity to explore their creativity, learn new techniques, and develop their craftsmanship under the guidance of experienced trainers.
