Tonye Briggs emerges Curator at Geneva World Economic Forum

Tonye Briggs, the founder of @portharcourtinpictures, a social media platform which promotes the people, culture, places and lifestyle, has emerged as the Curator of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Hub for the City of Port Harcourt.

As the Curator of the Global Shapers Community, Port Harcourt Hub, she was selected to represent Port Harcourt City at the @worldeconomicforum in Geneva, Switzerland.

According to her, the event has further provided her with an invaluable opportunity to learn from a global network of 500 young inspiring global shapers from over 150 countries working together to address local, regional and global challenges ranging from fighting climate change to combating poverty and building inclusive communities.

She stood out at the summit with her Nigerian-made outfits by Port Harcourt-based designers Jazz Effect Designs @Jazzeffectdesign and Michificent Collections @michificent fully representing the Rivers State culture.

Her traditional outfit on the first day was by Port Harcourt-based designer, Jazz Effect Design.

Tonye Briggs was spotted fully adorned in traditional attire, cap and exquisite coral beads from the southern part of Nigeria, which garnered a lot of attention as she represented the Rivers State culture.

She expressed confidence that her participation at the Summit will not only contribute to her personal and professional growth but will also enable her handle her responsibilities effectively as the Curator of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community.

With over 12,000 members, the Global Shapers Community spans across about 430 city based in more than 150 countries.

Tonye Briggs said she  has been able to connect and learn from over 500 young leaders from over 150 countries who are dedicated to making a positive impact in there communities just like herself.

She added that the platform was vital as she plans to launch strategic initiatives to create social change, locally and globally from the 1st of July, 2023 when her mandate begins.
