News commentator John Hunt and his daughter Amy have issued a heartfelt statement following the tragic murders of Carol Hunt, 61, Louise Hunt, 25, and Hannah Hunt, 28. Kyle Clifford, suspected of killing John Hunt’s wife and daughters, was detained by police on Wednesday.
John Hunt expressed the family’s grief, stating, “We are devastated over the murders of my wife and two daughters.”
The three women were killed in a crossbow attack at their home in Ashlyn Close, Bushey, Hertfordshire, earlier this week.
In their statement, John and Amy Hunt said, “The devastation we are experiencing cannot be put into words. We would like to thank people for their kind messages and the support we have received in recent days. These have provided great comfort to us, for which we are very grateful.”
The family requested privacy during this difficult time, saying, “As you can imagine, this is an extremely difficult time for us. We need time and space to come to terms with what has happened and to start the grieving process. We ask that our privacy and that of our wider family be respected at this time. Thank you.”
Kyle Clifford, 26, was detained by police on Wednesday afternoon. He has been treated for injuries in the hospital and was officially arrested on suspicion of the murders.
Photos showed Clifford being stretchered out of Lavender Hill Cemetery in Enfield. He remains in serious condition.
